Spiritual Life

What is a Spiritual Life?

“That which is real, cannot be threatened. That which is unreal does not exist.” ~The Course in Miracles

A spiritual life is one that is devoted to seeing the Divine in all things. All beings, situations, and circumstances the mind is listening and attuning itself to what the infinite intelligence has to say. This deeper listening is caused by the continuous realization that we all come from one source. We are all made up of consciousness, and when we meditate deeply on this fact, we experience ourselves as real eternal spiritual souls who are forever connected with an unlimited Source of love, abundance, intelligence and power.

This simple yet profound spiritual understanding comes on its own accord and cannot be forced, yet we can till the soil and plant the seeds that will one day reap a future harvest of a true spiritual awakening within.

When Does a Spiritual Life Begin?

Your spiritual life can begin at anytime. In any job, marriage, social situation, within any sort of boring, ordinary or complacent lifestyle that you may believe you have. The spiritual magic occurs when we choose to put our awareness within, at what is being aware of everything around us. When we stop placing our attention ‘out there’ and return it to the awareness that is watching everything within, the spiritual journey awakens and ignites itself instantly.

Each day that we are living in a constant deep state of connection with our own awareness, and not consumed by all the desires, beliefs, problems, and thoughts passing through the mind, our entire day becomes one long deep sweet spiritual experience. We know that who you are, and who everyone is, is something that is beyond this body and behind this very busy mind. We realize we are something that cannot be explained by words, wet by water, burnt by fire or damaged in any way. Self realization is so simple. It is the living breathing embodiment of one’s own true nature.

The path into a spiritual life often happens after a person has had a dramatic and perhaps catastrophic change in their life (such as a divorce or death in the family) that opens the need for a real spiritual awakening. The trauma invokes a deeper questioning into life, into ones life purpose, and the purpose of the Universe. We look at our self objectively, a deep self-inquiry begins where everything we once took for granted is now perceived at from a new angle. This is how the spiritual essence within oneself is continually rediscovered day after day, building into a perpetual experience of having a spiritual life.

When the spiritual essence within is first found, there comes such a profound clarity that can be quite shocking. You may experience that your kundalini awakens and the path to the land of enlightenment is paved right in front of you! In a single moment we see every thing with crystal clear vision because the ego based mind is no longer running the show. We feel relaxed about everything. We are never worried, never rushed, and are always feeling loved, supported and connected. Just being alive, we are naturally celebrating every moment of our precious existence exactly as it is.

When you are living the spiritual life you stop trying to change anything around you. Instead, you direct your energy inwards towards the amazing feeling of being intimately connected with the divine loving Universe at all times. From this space, every moment is a just cause for total ecstatic celebration!

How to Spiritually Awaken?

If you would like to deeply realize that you are a spiritual being, not just a physical body, you must find a way to become 100% devoted to experiencing a spiritual life. Being 99% devoted only causes a future egoic mind to creep in and pull us back into a “non spiritual life” which is an unconscious life dominated by time, money, demands, greed, status, power, or the need to fulfill our every desire. When you’re free from living from your ego, you’ll be free from all of this, which is the cause of all of your suffering.

To begin opening your spiritual life door, start living, breathing, and feeling into this conscious intelligent energy that coursing through your body and brain in each moment right now! Direct your attention towards that which you love and appreciate about yourself inside. What qualities do you like about you? What do you feel is your greatest gift and service to this world? It could be as simple as a warm heart and a smile, or the ability to bring humor into a serious room.

Whatever it is that you like about yourself, dwell on that. This will awaken the part of you that can feel how life loves you unconditionally, and your main job is in surrendering to this love and practice letting it everywhere you go.

A simple constant looking into the source of ones spiritual energy is what brings a person into a higher spiritually enlightened state. Whatever we focus on grows and expands. As we dwell on the source of our true being, this ultimately becomes a deep and radical process of peeling back the many protected and cunning layers of our ego. We become like babies again, feeling truly naked, raw, real and natural. In this full self exposure we begin to experience our true radiance, which is our Infinite Self. This profound unveiling of our real nature can be painful or pleasureful, depending on how much we cling to our past beliefs of who we think we are. With a simple sweet self loving relaxation, we can gently open up and discover the wonder of our innermost being, and know how deeply connected, held, safe, and loved we are by the entire magical intelligent Universe.

How to Overcome the Obstacles to a Spiritual Life

The main obstacle will always be our ego. The mind that is filled with desire to be, do have or experience something other than what it is. This yearning pulls us out of the present moment which is the only place the spiritual life can exist. When the mind is constantly looking, seeking and striving to achieve something else than our spiritual truth, our life stops yearning for real freedom in this world. this burning desire to be free is the main fire needed to burn the veils blocking us from a spiritual life.

When we are deeply honest with ourselves, we realize that there is nothing more important in life than total freedom from all suffering. We can teach ourselves how to stop being negative so there is space and energy to welcome the divine being we truly are! This is what the spiritual adventure is here to offer you. Absolute inner peace on all dimensions and levels. Even a small flame of desire burning for freedom inside is enough to pierce through the cyclone of information about who and what you are.

A small burning flame for freedom takes us beyond the apparent chaos, turmoil and confusion the world presents to us, and offers a deeper perspective filled with understanding the spiritual perfection within everything. This welcoming of the perfection of all things makes way to feel the total stillness that is at the very center of your being. This is where your true spiritual knowledge resides. This stillness opens the door to the Source of your spiritual reality the penetrates through the entire Universe.

Tips for Having a Spiritual Life:
Stop whatever you are doing, stop whatever you are thinking, and right now realize that you are an Infinite Spiritual Being who will never die. Make this dynamic shift in your consciousness all day today!

Being Persistent in Uncovering your Spiritual Life

Allow all of your challenges, blocks, distractions, and problems to PUSH you deeper into finding your spiritual life. They are the fuel for your fire for freedom. The more suffering you can allow yourself to feel, the more energy, motivation and passion you’ll find for discovering this whole new liberating reality awaiting you inside!

By welcoming your negativity instead of trying to destroy it with positivity, we develop a deeper compassionate approach to life. We see that the divine is within ALL things. Everything contains the spiritual source energy, yes even the darkest negative energy contains a seed of light. It is within everything the mind projects as being good or bad. By knowing this, you realize the true Divine being you truly are.

It’s good to know that all your suffering stems from the mind. The mind is stuck in an old persistent habit of separating life, judging and labeling things as this is good and that is bad. We are used to living in duality instead of unity consciousness. In the ego/mind, all we can see is black and white, good and bad, and right and wrong in the world. What’s important to know here is that the real spiritual separation is not being established out there in that thing we are judging, its manifesting ONLY within ourselves.

“Don’t rely on the mind for liberation…just have faith and act on it. You are the sum cause of the entire universe.” ~Nisargadatta

The Universe is a perpetual divine mystery. Once we reach one level of spiritual awakening, we are ready to ascend to the next. It is never ending. This divine growing exploration is why we are here. To evolve in consciousness and love.

The answers to every mystery however are ALWAYS there and available to you. Once you open your mind up to the Universal mind, the answers will flood all around you and pour into you.

The moment you have a tiny glance of your infinite nature, you see that you are The Divine. You know that you are a spiritual being and the Source of Love itself. There is nothing greater than knowing this.

The infinite field of energy that is constantly supporting you in awakening to knowing the Truth. By simply asking yourself the question, “Who Am I? What am I really?” This inquiry instantly leads one into the truth of life itself.

The infinite is beyond words, ideas and concepts. You are simply BEING WITH WHAT IS. Accepting everyone for who and what they are. Allowing everything to be as it is. You are living in connection with the God Source it is always pouring into you. This is what a spiritual life is truly about. There is no more powerful spiritually awakening path to tread in life, if you have the patience to explore the simple truth of what/who you are.

If you answer this question, “Who am I” with another thought or belief about yourself, you just arrive at another limiting thought about what you are and cannot truly see your true Infinite Nature. It is the question itself which opens the door to realizing the unlimited infinite being you actually are.

“In a single moment, in one stroke, you can become enlightened. It is not a gradual process, because enlightenment is not something that you have to invent. It is something that you have to discover. It is already there. It is not something that you have to manufacture. If you have to manufacture it, of course, it will take time; but it is already there. Close your eyes and see it there. Be silent and have a taste of it. Your very nature is what I call enlightenment. Enlightenment is not something alien, outside you. It is not somewhere else in time and space. It is you, your very core.” ~Osho

Nothing that happens is by accident. Even your decision to read this is not an accident. Each experience you have in life is the “right” experience. Every lesson you are here to learn is being provided to you through these experiences. The Universe is constantly giving us assistance.

Your problems and issues in life are like particles of sand between our toes, depending how you move through life they either grind or massage your feet. Your problems are your greatest teachers in disguise. Explore your life with a childlike curiosity. Life has a greater wisdom for you than you can conceive of because the entire World is designed to awaken, enlighten, heal and empower you.

Everything is connected to a cosmic intelligent web of energy, love and information in between every atom in this Universe. An exponentially increasing flow of amazing enlightening insights will happen to you the moment you let go and dive deeper into trusting this Infinite Source of Intelligence. When you do you’ll notice your body becomes very relaxed, empty, soft and open to almost every possibility that comes its way.

It’s good to know that supreme states of Bliss are happening to people ALL over this planet right now…

chakramanAs you become more patient with life (and wiser) you’ll naturally create more time to explore your inner world. By practicing quieting your mind with meditation everyday you’ll begin to go deeper into your being…truly exploring your heart, mind and soul. If you feel you’ve already done this, you haven’t. The inner world is an infinite exploration. Once we have an idea that we “know it all” we become imprisoned in the Ego’s realm of illusion.

To see an instant shift in your consciousness, focus on what is working in your life, instead of what isn’t. If a certain problem or issue keeps arising in you and will not go away, sit with it. Face it directly. Write about it. Talk to it, then talk about it with someone else. Listen to the mental chatter that’s constantly in your head. It is pointing towards the answers if you follow with curiosity. They are re-occurring because of unlearned life lessons from ignored past issues that were there to awake you to realizing the infinite being you really are.

As you experience your issues, notice the depth and/or shallowness of your breath. Simply observe. Do not judge anything (especially yourself). Learn to simply be with what is happening on the inside, on the outside and witness.

There are many paths to enlightenment as there are people on this planet.
